Guess what? It’s almost the middle of the year!!! So, let’s talk about your law firm’s marketing plan again!

By now you have experienced the difference between having a great marketing plan for your law firm and executing a great marketing plan.

Especially since you’ve invested your money, time and effort in marketing into getting that phone to ring. You want to make sure to have these things locked down first.

I have a fun assessment for you to check where you’re at now with your marketing strategy and see if it works for you at the end of this article.

Marketing for a law firm certainly is one of the many surprises that go along with the territory especially when you’re starting a law firm, marketing can be a challenging task but it is important to ensure that your firm is reaching its target audience and attracting new clients which are the oxygen to our businesses.

To make sure you’re still on track with your marketing strategy.

Here are 6 steps to check your marketing progress in the middle of the year:

1. Review Your Marketing Goals: At the beginning of the year, you should have set specific marketing goals for your business.

  • Go back and review these goals to see if you are on track to achieve them.

  • Are you hitting your target or goals (e.g. generating enough leads, conversions, or revenue)

  • If you are falling short of your goals, identify the reasons and determine what needs to change.

  • You may need to adjust your marketing strategies or allocate more resources to specific campaigns.

  • This way your not just throwing money everywhere and see where it sticks!

2. Analyse Your Website Traffic: Your website is one of the most important marketing tools for your business. Analysing your website traffic will help you understand whether your marketing efforts are driving traffic to your site.

  • Use tools like Google Analytics to track website traffic, bounce rates, and the time visitors spend on your site.
  • Analysing your website traffic will give you insights into what is working and what is not. -You may find that certain pages are performing better than others or that certain traffic sources are more effective at driving traffic to your site.

3. Measure Your Conversion Rates: Your Law Firm Conversion rates are a critical metric for measuring marketing progress.

  • Analyse the conversion rates of your website, social media, and email marketing campaigns. This will help you see if your marketing efforts convert leads into customers. -Look for trends in your conversion rates and identify areas where you can improve. For example, you may find that your email campaigns are not generating as many conversions as you would like.
  • In this case, you may need to adjust your email content or target a different audience.

4. Review Your Social Media Analytics: Social media is an essential marketing tool for engaging with your audience and promoting your brand.

  • Review your social media analytics to see which social media platforms are performing well and which ones need improvement.
  • Analyse engagement rates, follower growth, and post reach to get a better understanding of your social media performance.
  • You may find that certain types of content are more effective on certain social media platforms or that your audience engages more with visual content rather than text-based content.

5. Evaluate Your Content Strategy: Content marketing is a powerful way to build brand awareness and engage with your audience.

  • Evaluate your content marketing for law firms strategy to see if it is producing the desired results.
  • Analyse your blog posts, videos, and social media content to determine what content gives value to your audience.
  • Look for trends in your content performance, and adjust your content strategy accordingly. For example, you may find that your audience engages more with video content than blog posts.
  • In this case, you may need to shift your content strategy to focus more on video content.

6. Look at Your Advertising Spend: Review your advertising spend to see if it is producing a positive return on investment. Since I have been there and done that I know exactly how much each client cost me to acquire. (e.g. clients converted through radio ads cost me more than clients that were converted through opt-ins or Google ads )

  • Analyse your cost-per-click, cost-per-acquisition, and conversion rates to see if your advertising campaigns are producing the desired results.
  • Look for opportunities to optimise your advertising campaigns to increase ROI. For example, you may need to adjust your targeting or ad copy to improve your ad performance.
